Tasty Choco Orange Plumcake : here’s how to make it soft and fragrant…

Orange and chocolate plumcake delicious and fluffy plumcake with a yummy chocolate ganache on the outside, which gives even more goodness to this cake, the combination of orange and chocolate is perfect, I recommend you absolutely try this cake. If you don’t have a plumcake mold, you can use a donut mold using the same proportions.

For the Cake:

  • 1 orange (zest and juice)
  • 300g (2½ cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (15g or 1 tablespoon) baking powder
  • 4 medium eggs
  • 100g (½ cup) granulated sugar
  • 150ml (⅔ cup) sunflower oil
  • 1 pinch of salt

For the Ganache:

  • 250g (9 oz) dark chocolate
  • 120ml (½ cup) heavy cream (double cream)
  • 80g (⅓ cup) unsalted butter

How to prepare Tasty Choco Orange Plumcake:

  1. Let’s start preparing the Orange and Chocolate Plumcake, Cut the dark chocolate into pieces and keep it aside. If you have a planetary mixer I recommend using it otherwise you can use electric whips, divide the eggs whip the egg whites with one part sugar, the other you will have to add a little at a time. Now add one yolk at a time to and again with the whips in action.
  2. Combine the sunflower seed oil in a trickle so the mixture does not come apart. Wash the orange remove the stalk and cut it into pieces, obviously without peeling them, if you see any seeds you have to remove them, pour everything into the blender and blend so as to obtain a puree. Now add the puree to the mixture just whipped and also add the sifted flour mixed with baking powder and salt, I recommend with movements from top to bottom so as not to disassemble the mixture.
  3. Pour a drizzle of oil on the mold with a brush spread it and flour then removing the excess, pour the mixture and heat the static oven to 180 °C (340 °F) and when it is hot bake and bake for 60 minutes, I recommend before baking do the toothpick test to check the cooking, if you see that it is still moist bake for another 5 minutes,
  4. While the Orange Plumcake is in the oven let’s prepare the ganache that we will need later to add on top. Pour the cream and butter into a saucepan and bring to a boil, as soon as it starts to boil turn it off and pour in the chopped dark chocolate, stir to make a smooth and even cream, let cool to room temperature.
  5. When the orange plumcake is ready take it out of the oven and let it cool, then pour in the chocolate ganache, and put the Orange and Chocolate Plumcake, in the refrigerator for 10 minutes so that the ganache sets and solidifies.
