Cake pops, the viral recipe for “lollipops” with leftover cake…

Friends of Granny Tricks , do you have leftover cake or sponge cake? Then you are just in the right place! Today, in fact, we really felt like making something different from the usual… a super fun, colorful and cute recipe that can be prepared in no time to bring a smile to friends and family: the very popular cake pops!

Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) sponge cake or vanilla cake
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam
  • 150g (5.3 oz) dark chocolate
  • Chopped hazelnuts, as needed
  • Colored sugar sprinkles, as needed

How to prepare Cake pops:

  1. Crumble the leftover cake or sponge cake into a bowl, add the jam, mix well, first with a spatula and then with your hands and form a ball.
  2. Take about 40 g of dough and form a ball, place it on a sheet of baking paper and continue like this until you run out of dough. Then insert a long toothpick into each ball and place them in the freezer to chill for at least 2 1/2 hours.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and dip the balls completely in it.
  4. Let the excess chocolate drip off and drizzle them over the hazelnut sprinkles or pralines until they are completely covered. Let cool and serve!
