Baked Apple Fritters :A Delicious Homemade Recipe

Baked Apple Fritters :A Delicious Homemade Recipe…

Who knows why when I think of homemade desserts, those baked with love and tasted still warm I always think of those with apples. Grandma’s apple pie , apple strudel, apple and cream tart… you name it! Today, however, I want to bring you some super nice apple desserts with a super creamy filling. I am talking about apple fritters, not fried but baked!

Ingredients :

  • 3 apples
  • 130g (1 cup) plain/all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) water
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (caster or granulated)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 organic lemon (zest)
  • Vanilla extract, to taste
  • Ground cinnamon, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Icing/powdered sugar, for dusting

How to Prepare Baked Apple Fritters:

  1. Prepare the batter starting with the egg, beat it with the sugar then add the vanilla powder, zest of 1 lemon, cinnamon and pinch of salt. Now add the water, then little by little add the flour sifted with the baking powder, finally the EVO oil.
  2. Using the special tool, core the apples, peel and slice them.
  3. Dip the “apple donuts” in the newly created batter and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper well apart.
  4. They go in the oven at 160-180 °C (320-350°F) for about 30 min (after they are cooked, check them often and adjust “by eye” according to the power of your oven).
  5. Serve them warm with some powdered sugar and offer them to the whole family–the apple inside will melt in your mouth!

Bon Appetit!
