Baked Apple Fritters :A Delicious Homemade Recipe…
Who knows why when I think of homemade desserts, those baked with love and tasted still warm I always think of those with apples. Grandma’s apple pie , apple strudel, apple and cream tart… you name it! Today, however, I want to bring you some super nice apple desserts with a super creamy filling. I am talking about apple fritters, not fried but baked!
Ingredients :
- 3 apples
- 130g (1 cup) plain/all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 120ml (1/2 cup) water
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar (caster or granulated)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 organic lemon (zest)
- Vanilla extract, to taste
- Ground cinnamon, to taste
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Icing/powdered sugar, for dusting
How to Prepare Baked Apple Fritters:
- Prepare the batter starting with the egg, beat it with the sugar then add the vanilla powder, zest of 1 lemon, cinnamon and pinch of salt. Now add the water, then little by little add the flour sifted with the baking powder, finally the EVO oil.
- Using the special tool, core the apples, peel and slice them.
- Dip the “apple donuts” in the newly created batter and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper well apart.
- They go in the oven at 160-180 °C (320-350°F) for about 30 min (after they are cooked, check them often and adjust “by eye” according to the power of your oven).
- Serve them warm with some powdered sugar and offer them to the whole family–the apple inside will melt in your mouth!
Bon Appetit!
