Bell Pepper Puff Pastry Pie the simple and perfect recipe. How good are Savory Pies always tasty and flavorful and always different. All you need is a roll of puff pastry or, brisèe pastry is fine too, and a few other ingredients you have in the fridge to make an always different and always delicious savory pie.
Ingredients for Bell Pepper Puff Pastry Pie:
- 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry (round)
- 800g (1.75 lbs) bell peppers (yellow and red)
- 250g (8.8 oz) ricotta cheese
- 70g (2.5 oz) grated Grana Padano cheese
- 180g (6.3 oz) scamorza cheese
- Extra virgin olive oil, as needed
- 1 pinch of black pepper
- Salt, to taste
How to prepare Bell Pepper Puff Pastry Pie:
- Wash the peppers, dry them and oil them. Transfer them to the basket of the air fryer and cook them at 200°C (400°F) for about 20 minutes. With air fryer cooking, you don’t even need to turn them so they cook thoroughly on all sides. But you can also bake them in the oven or simply on a grill.
- When they are nicely charred on all sides transfer the peppers to a paper or plastic food bag. Let them cool; this way it will then be easy to peel them. Peel them and also remove the inner seeds. Cut them into strips.
- Mix in a bowl the ricotta cheese with 40 grams of grated cheese, a pinch of pepper and the scamorza cheese in small cubes. Roll out the puff pastry roll to line a 26-cm-diameter round baking pan lined with baking paper. Prick the bottom with the tines of a fork.
- Spread the ricotta cream on the bottom and arrange the roasted bell pepper fillets on top . Salt the peppers and sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top. Drizzle with evo oil and bake the Savory Pie with peppers in the hot oven at 190° in fan mode for about 30 minutes. If you use static oven baking maybe 4-5 minutes longer will be needed.
