Friends of Granny Tricks , do you have leftover cake or sponge cake? Then you are just in the right place! Today, in fact, we really felt like making something different from the usual… a super fun, colorful and cute recipe that can be prepared in no time to bring a smile to friends and family: the very popular cake pops!
Ingredients:
- 200g (7 oz) sponge cake or vanilla cake
- 2 tablespoons apricot jam
- 150g (5.3 oz) dark chocolate
- Chopped hazelnuts, as needed
- Colored sugar sprinkles, as needed
How to prepare Cake pops:
- Crumble the leftover cake or sponge cake into a bowl, add the jam, mix well, first with a spatula and then with your hands and form a ball.
- Take about 40 g of dough and form a ball, place it on a sheet of baking paper and continue like this until you run out of dough. Then insert a long toothpick into each ball and place them in the freezer to chill for at least 2 1/2 hours.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and dip the balls completely in it.
- Let the excess chocolate drip off and drizzle them over the hazelnut sprinkles or pralines until they are completely covered. Let cool and serve!
