Classic Caesar Salad: The Recipe for the World’s Most Famous Salad…
Fancy a tasty, light lunch or a satisfying main course? Caesar salad is just the thing for you! It’s quick, tasty and so good that-it doesn’t even look like salad! Of course, there’s no shortage of toppings, but in fact it’s a one-pot meal so I’d say it’s just right!
Caesar salad can be found on the menus of so many restaurants, being a perfect big salad for a quick, tasty but still light lunch break. Today we prepare it at home, without of course forgetting the Caesar dressing, which gives it that lively taste typical of this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 250g (9 oz) sliced chicken breast
- 100g (3.5 oz) bread
- 1 head of romaine lettuce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 5g (1 teaspoon) Worcestershire sauce
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Parmesan cheese shavings
How To Prepare Classic Caesar Salad:
- Grill the chicken breast slices after seasoning them with oil, salt and pepper.
- In an oiled skillet, toast the bread cut into cubes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper and toss until golden brown and crispy.
- After washing and drying, coarsely chop the romaine lettuce.
- Prepare the Caesar dressing by emulsifying the mustard, lemon juice, and Worcester sauce. Emulsify with an immersion blender to obtain a creamy, smooth consistency.
- Assemble the Caesar Salad by spreading the lettuce on the bottom of salad bowls, add the chicken cut into strips, croutons, and Parmesan shavings.
- Top with plenty of Caesar dressing and enjoy!
