Hazelnut Cake: The Super Easy Dessert with Only 3 Ingredients…

Cakes, it is known, are always and always tempting for dessert lovers. There are thousands of them and surely there are still cakes to be invented thanks to all the ingredients that can be used.

In recent years, there is a bit of a “without…” fad, the one that makes us curious about a recipe when it is made in an unconventional way, perhaps without an ingredient expected in the original version or without an allergen.

Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) hazelnuts
  • 4 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 200g (1 cup) granulated sugar (caster sugar)
  • Icing sugar (powdered sugar) for dusting, as needed

How to prepare Hazelnut Cake:

  1. Blend the hazelnuts in a mixer.
  2. Open the eggs, divide the yolks from the whites, beat the egg whites until stiff with a pinch of salt, the yolks instead with sugar.
  3. Add the whipped hazelnuts to the yolk and sugar mixture, mix well, and afterwards blend in the egg whites. Pour the mixture into a hinged mold lined on the bottom with baking paper.
  4. Bake the cake at 170°C (340°F) in a ventilated oven for 30 minutes.
  5. Wait for it to cool, sprinkle it with powdered sugar and enjoy!
