Melty Cheese Balls: Bite-sized Spheres of Cheesy Goodness…
This Melty Cheese Balls are little balls of pure deliciousness, crispy on the outside and stringy on the inside. Perfect for an appetizer, hors d’oeuvre or a tasty snack, these delicious bombettes will win everyone over with their creamy heart of melted cheese.
Ingredients:
- 200g (7 oz) Gouda cheese
- 1 egg white
- 1 egg yolk
1 whole egg - 10g (2 teaspoons) all-purpose flour
- 5g (1 teaspoon) sweet paprika
- Breadcrumbs, as needed for coating
How to prepare Melty Cheese Balls:
- Grate the cheese with a wide-hole grater, then place it in a bowl and add the egg white. With your hands make balls of similar size.
- In a bowl beat the whole egg with the yolk, paprika and flour, and in another bowl arrange the breadcrumbs or panko.
- Dip the cheese balls first in the beaten egg and then, in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make the breadcrumbs adhere.
- Repeat for each cheese ball.
- Fry the bowler balls in corn oil until golden brown. Once cooked arrange on paper towels to blot up excess oil.
- Once cooked, serve immediately, still hot and stringy, accompanying them perhaps with a fresh tomato sauce or yogurt sauce for an extra touch of flavor.
