Simple Chocolate Water Cake : easy Recipe…
Good and light desserts do exist. For chocolate lovers who want no pangs of conscience in enjoying a good dessert, we have just the right recipe: chocolate water cake, the even more mouth-watering version of water cake and water doughnut and even cocoa water doughnut. A chocolate cake with no butter, no eggs and no milk…too many without? We are sure not! Allow yourself to be tempted by this soft and mouthwatering chocolate cake that will win you over at the first bite! Once baked and left to cool you can consume the chocolate water cake plain or filled with a layer of the jam you like best. It is so easy and quick to prepare that you will never be able to do without it again.
Ingredients :
for a 22 cm / 8.5 inch diameter tin
- 335g (1½ cups) Water
- 225g (1¾ cups) Plain flour / All-purpose flour
- 200g (1 cup) Granulated sugar
- 80g (3 oz) Dark chocolate
- 90g (⅓ cup + 1 tbsp) Vegetable oil
- 16g (4 tsp) Baking powder
- Zest of 1 orange
How to make Simple Chocolate Water Cake:
- To prepare the chocolate water cake first start by chopping the chocolate finely. Then place the chocolate chips back into a small bowl and set aside. Now take a high-sided saucepan and pour in the water. Let it heat over a gentle heat.
- When the water begins to heat, add the sugar and, using a hand whisk, stir the sugar well to dissolve it.
- Once the sugar is dissolved, while continuing to stir, add the previously prepared chocolate chips as well. Continue to mix the ingredients vigorously with the hand whips to prevent lumps from forming.
- The heat will help dissolve the ingredients in the water. When the ingredients are totally blended and free of lumps pour the mixture into a high-sided bowl or the bowl of a blender.
- Now take an immersion blender and finely blend all the ingredients in the bowl. Then let cool to room temperature. After that take a bowl and sift the flour and baking powder.
- When the chocolate and sugar mixture has cooled, pour it into the bowl with the flour, in three times 10 taking care to mix vigorously with a hand whisk to prevent lumps from forming and thus obtain a homogeneous mixture. Proceed by pouring in the oil flush and, once incorporated, grate the zest of one orange.
- Continue mixing the ingredients.nfine, butter and line a 22-cm-diameter cake pan with baking paper and pour in the resulting mixture. Bake in a preheated static oven at 180°C (350°F) for 50 minutes. Once cooked, unmold the cake and let it cool completely on a wire rack. You can dust it with powdered sugar before serving!
