Sugar-Free Apple Jam: A 2-Ingredient Recipe with No Added Sugar…
Apple jam, or even better, apple jam, a very simple recipe to make, healthy and valuable for the health of your intestine!
I love this preparation for its versatility and myriad benefits; it lends itself well to be eaten for breakfast with toast, but also to be included in more classic desserts such as tarts or strudels.
Ingredients:
How to Prepare Sugar-Free Apple Jam:
- Peel your ripe apples, remove the cores and cut them into medium-small pieces.
- Add them to a pot with the juice of 1/2 lemon and let them cook on low heat for 30 minutes (I recommend using a flame spreader under the pot to cook them as gently as possible).
- At this point whisk everything, helping yourself with some water until smooth.
- Put everything back on the stove and let it cook for another hour or so or until your jam has reached a thicker consistency and a darker color due to the caramelization of the apples’ natural sugars (this process helps make the jam naturally sweet without adding sugar).
- And after 1 hour, your apple jam is ready to be placed in a glass jar and enjoyed (in 2-3 days) as you like, I love it on toast with yogurt and nuts, a real treat!
