The perfect ingredient for household cleaning, also excellent against lime. Here is the product that you certainly have at home.

House cleaning is never too easy if you don’t have the right products. The room that certainly requires the most attention in terms of hygiene and cleanliness is undoubtedly the bathroom. Witness and home to numerous bacteria and dirt accumulation, it is also the place where limescale is most easily formed.

Lime in the toilet but not only where it is easier to settle and what to fight it with

In an imaginary domestic bathroom layout, the toilet is undoubtedly the first place for bacteria and dirt residues. The common notion is not wrong at all, because due to the nature of its use and operation, the toilet is added not only bacteria but also limestone, which, if not treated properly, over time, can lead to stains and spots streaks of unpleasant brown color.

If you have a shower made of glass, it will probably rank second in the ideal ranking of the dirtiest places. Those pesky lime droplets that build up on both the glass and the tiles add to the idea of dirt and unkemptness, leaving behind halos and stains. The products on the market to remedy the problem are innumerable, but often rich in chemical substances that are not environmentally friendly. In addition, their smell, albeit with the addition of fragrances, unfortunately, is often much too strong and almost unpleasant.

What you probably do not know is that the best ally for cleaning the bathroom is a product that you certainly already have at home. In fact, the ideal ally is white vinegar, which can be used in many different ways.

Use vinegar for cleaning in the bathroom

White vinegar really lends itself to countless applications when it comes to cleaning. For example, for dark stains in the toilet, simply pour it liberally directly on the stains (or on the floor if the problem is below the water level) and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes. The vinegar thus acts by weakening the stain, so you can clean it by rubbing it with a toothbrush or sponge. In addition to cleaning, vinegar is an excellent ally for disinfection, so regular use of this method will also help prevent the stains from returning.

The application for shower glass is very similar. In this case, it is advisable to prepare a mixture of 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. The ideal procedure is to pour the mixture into a spray bottle, spray it on the glass of the shower and again leave it to act for about 20 minutes. You can then proceed by rubbing with a sponge, rinsing with water and drying with a paper towel.

The same solution, but without bicarbonate, can also be used to clean the tiles, both inside and outside the shower. For tiles, the dosages are slightly different, as the ratio should be 2/3 vinegar and 1/3 water. Again, the solution can be sprayed directly on the tiles, left to act and then removed with a damp cloth rubbing in case of stains or small mold.

The other uses of vinegar for cleaning the house

At home, white vinegar can be used for several purposes. One of them is cleaning the rooms: in the refrigerator it is enough to put two fingertips of vinegar in a glass to remove bad odors, while in the rooms it can be poured in containers more or less large to remove unpleasant odors.

Also useful for laundry, adding a few spoons of vinegar to the detergent helps to have softer clothes and degrease the most stubborn dirt. It is also a good helper for maintenance and internal cleaning of the washing machine.
