Truly Crispy Air Fryer Potato Chips
Potatoes in the air fryer are light, tasty, crispy and perfect for replacing potato chips, potatoes cooked in an air fryer allow you to have a light and delicious side dish in just a few minutes, if you are watching your figure or want to avoid fried food I recommend you try them, you can flavor the potato chips as you like.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Potato Chips:
- 4 medium-sized potatoes
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Pecorino Romano cheese, grated
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
How to make a Truly Crispy Air Fryer Potato Chips:
- Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds. Try to make them all roughly the same thickness for even cooking.
- Rinse the potato slices under running water and dry them thoroughly with a clean kitchen towel.
- Note: With air frying, soaking isn’t necessary as they’ll become crispy anyway. However, if you prefer, you can soak them in cold water for about 20 minutes, then dry thoroughly.
- Place the potato slices in a bowl and add salt, black pepper, grated Pecorino Romano cheese, and extra virgin olive oil.
- Mix well to coat the potato slices evenly.
Cooking in the Air Fryer:
- Place the seasoned potato slices directly in the air fryer basket. No parchment paper or additional lining is needed.
- Set the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and the timer for 8 minutes.
- Halfway through cooking (around 4 minutes), shake the basket or stir the potato slices.
- If you prefer darker, crispier chips, you can increase the cooking time to 10 minutes.
- Once done, your air fryer potato chips are ready to enjoy! They’re crispy, healthier, use less oil, and are lighter than traditional fried chips.
